Shish taouk
Shish taouk ((アラビア語:شيش طاووق), (トルコ語:Şiş tavuk) or ''Tavuk şiş'', (アゼルバイジャン語:Toyuq kababı)) is a traditional marinated chicken shish kebab of Middle Eastern cuisine. It is widely eaten in Turkey, Azerbaijan, Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Iraq, the Palestinian Territories, and Israel. A similar dish in Persian cuisine is the traditional jujeh kabab. It is also served in kebab houses in many cities around the world. ==Etymology== ''Shish'' or ''Şiş'' come from old Turkish〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Şiş )〕 and means skewer in Turkish (it has been adopted in Egyptian Arabic, Lebanese-Arabic and Syrian-Arabic dialects, and ''tavuk'' (pronounced "tah-wouk") comes from old Turkic ''Takagu'' means chicken.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=tavuk )〕
